A daughter of Pappa Riccio and granddaughter of Nashua, Jazzy was a very talented
hunter prospect. Since she was a weanling, Jazzy showed exceptional ability both
on the flat and over fences, even jumping another 15-hand horse in her field at only
a year and a half old. Before starting training, she frequently jumped ditches, logs,
and other natural obstacles when turned out, as well as clearing both verticals and
crossrails without being asked when loose in the arena. At two years old, Jazzy
began training under saddle, which included jumping early on due to her ability
and interest. Over the next few years, she was trained to jump verticals, oxers,
triples, stone and brick walls, coops, and roll top fences. By the time she was
four years old, Jazzy had shown successfully under low and green
hunters and jumpers.
upper level hunter. She possessed a magnificent floating trot due to her sloping
shoulders, long pasterns, and elegant build. Jazzy had impeccable judgment over
fences, and was extremely well balanced. Her poised bascule over fences came
naturally. Jazzy was a traditional daisy cutter mover and had auto-changes while
on course. She had the length of stride to easily make the distances on courses.
Jazzy had the look, movement, jumping style, and attitude necessary
for A level hunters.
